Jennifer Hackbarth has been lead pastor at Christ the King Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake, MN since December 2008.

She has published articles in print and online at Fidelia’s SistersLiving Lutheran, Cafe, and Gather magazine.

Jennifer received her M.Div. from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN in 2003 as a Presidential Scholar and holds certificates in both Youth and Family Ministries and Pastoral Administration. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and Family Studies from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN in 1999. In the summer of 2016, she experienced a 3-month sabbatical funded by a Lilly Clergy Renewal Grant and traveled to Scotland, Ireland, Norway, the coasts of both Washington and Oregon states, and spent several days in silent retreat at St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville, MN.

She grew up in Brainerd, MN. Before coming to Christ the King, Jennifer was pastor at Trinity Lutheran in Boyd, MN and served interims in both Clarkfield and St. Paul, MN. She enjoys music, reading, pop culture, musical theater, cooking, spending time near (or in!) water, and being with her husband, two children and their energetic dog.
